Human Resources Coordinator - QTU

About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. Reporting directly to the General Secretary, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive HR and payroll support to to the QTU.

What you will be doing:

  • Partner with section coordinators and staff to provide guidance and support throughout the entire employee lifecycle.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding new hires.
  • Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
  • Provide advice and support on employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Identify training needs, develop training programs, and coordinate training delivery.
  • Oversee payroll processing and administration (ELMO), including leave management, end of year processes and benefits administration.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and generate reports as needed.

What we’re looking for:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employee Relations, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Minimum of five years of HR experience in a complex organisation.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, industrial relations, and workplace health and safety.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to have difficult conversations.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in ELMO and data analysis is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
