Together Queensland branch of the ASU is a union with approximately 30,000 members employed in the Queensland Public Sector, Queensland Health and a wide variety of private sector industries and employers throughout Queensland.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the workplace and advocating for employee rights? We have an exciting opportunity for you to become an essential part of our industrial team as an Intake Officer. In this role, you will be at the forefront of triaging incoming contact from our members.

This position offers entry-level experience in a union setting, with opportunities for growth and career advancement.

We are seeking outgoing positive communicators for this role with an interest in commencing a career in the industrial relations and/or employment law field as part of a movement campaigning for better workplaces, real action on climate change, better laws, and quality public services.

As an Intake Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our industrial team and ensuring that our members receive the assistance they need. We are seeking applicants with both written and verbal communication skills, as the role is both telephone and online media based.

Successful candidates will have a keen interest in progressing both worker and civil rights in Queensland and are skilled at being able to quickly build rapport with people via various digital mediums, including persuasive conversations.

The role is located at our South Brisbane premises, comprising of regular 8-hour shifts rostered flexibly around university timetables and exam requirements.

Remuneration starts at $39.30 an hour (inclusive of casual loading).
